Managing classes is always a tricky subject for even the most seasoned teacher. Unit 5 gives great advice on how to not only physically manage your class, but also what kind of mental attitudes would work best for whichever class you might have. For example, good techniques for handling any size class (small or large), types of seating arrangements, how important your voice and gestures actually are, even the pros and cons of types of groups teachers can arrange their students in. I have personally found much insight with the maintaining discipline section. As we all know, having well behaved students make teaching a class fun and exciting. Much harder to enjoy when not all of your students are enjoying with you. Having techniques for identifying, preventing, and dealing with problem behavior is a huge asset from this unit.
