This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I learned about the various ways of assessing my future students as well as the different uses and levels required for each one. I learned that different tests are administered for different reasons, such as business related or university admittance related, and that each require the students to know practical uses of the language. During these exams, students are expected to demonstrate their knowledge of the language to the best of their ability in order to score well on the tests. If taking a placement test, they are questioned on progressively more difficult aspects of the language to determine their level, whereas if they were taking a TOEFL exam, they would be scored on a specific scale to determine their competency in the language and, thus, evaluated on whether or not they are eligible for admittance to a university.
