This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit covers the two main language skills, receptive and productive. The unit focusses mainly on the receptive as this is the most problematic for students. It covers how we receive language and for why i.e. entertainment or for a specific purpose. The unit and video then go onto what aspects of receptive language that we need to be mindful of in order to ensure our students are absorbing the language being taught i.e. creating interest through interesting topics and fun activities relevant to the topic. I found this unit useful as a guide for being mindful of these aspects. I also found the test challenging as the use of the word 'graded' in question 7 makes that choice ambiguous since it could be taken to mean 'assessed' as in 'marked', or 'assessed' and in 'ensures it is at the correct level' of the beginner students.
