This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This united covered the topic of lesson planning. Lesson planning is very beneficial and important because it helps a teacher stay organized (though flexible) and prepared, gives him/her an aid to refer to during class, and keeps a record of what has been covered/taught in the classroom. In creating a lesson plan, it is essential to keep it simple and structured, balanced and full of variety and open to being changed. A teacher should include the following in a lesson plan: student objectives, teacher improvements, main theme, teaching aids, possible issues, actual procedure and phase, timing (how long an activity/assignment will take), teacher/student interaction levels, class learning level, number and names of students and date. All of these will help a teacher (especially those new to teaching) be organized and prepared.
