Having taken German and Spanish in a university setting and being taught under the old traditional or classical style of learning using grammar translation system. I can now appreciate all of these different learning modalities in learning a new language. My retention and learning under the classical system basically not retention of material at all, plus the un-relaxed atmosphere.
I am very intrigued with how all these earlier methods have been combined taking the good points from all the various teaching methods used over the years resulting in a hybrid system such as Jeremy Harmer has introduced and now we will be putting it to use.
I like the fact less teacher talk time, keeping students interested with all the various methods and making a relaxed atmosphere, what a great concept. I look forward to implementing it. Thanks
