In this unit we talked about the productive skills: speaking and writing. As the unit mentioned, I also think writing is the most neglected skill in teaching English. It is the most difficult skill as well. Because it requires a greater degree of accuracy. Through my exerperience of teaching young kids, it's really hard for them to use accurate words and grammer to finish their diaries, book reports,etc. For teachers, to spend the class time to do writing training is difficult too.In this unit, I learned about every aspect of the present tenses. Normally, students begin speaking a language in the present tense and expand from there. For that reason it is important for the teacher to know absolutely everything about these common tenses. Also, because there are so many options for phrasing something, it is important to make note of the usages of each tense. This can give students the tools to experiment with the language and learn at a faster pace than before.
