In this unit I learnt about teaching methodologies, such as the grammar-translation or the CLL method; techniques and theories. The renowned ESA method was introduced to me and I have been shown the types of activities and content each stage could contain. I personally struggled slightly with this unit as I wasn't ever quite sure which method was which and was unsure why they didn't allow for a more flexible approach. That being said when I started reading into the ESA method I understood more and it 'clicked' more in my head that teaching is a lot about adapting to the class you have and the method you teach them can vary depending on the students. This has opened up the more creative aspects of teaching for me, including all the games and fun tasks that you may use with a class to get them to know and understand the language.
