In this lesson I have learnt that every language has four parts which are listening and reading (receptive skills) as well speaking and grammar but they all curry the same importance.
Just like grammar lessons, reading and listening also follow the ESA form of teaching.
I have also learn that, while selecting the topic for students to listen or read, make sure that you choose a topic which is for the interest of the students not for the teacher because what’s good for the teacher may not be interesting for the students. Also we should try to make sure that the language involved is at least to the level of the students.
I have also learnt how we generally listen and read, that sometimes we do general skimming, deduction from text, detailed, predictive skills and specific information scanning kind of reading and listening.
