This unit provides the basic structure of the classroom environment and how both teacher and student relate to one another. I have a degree in Music Education and I have taught for three years, thus I am already aware of the various roles of the teacher as well as the motivations of students.
I appreciated the learning differences between teaching English to adults and young learners. In general, adults have more life and language experience, though this may cause difficulties in correcting long-ingrained errors as well as learners attempting to learn English from a word-for-word standpoint. Young learners have a significantly shorter attention span and may lack motivation in comparison to adult learners, but they generally have open views to language learning and will not be hindered by negative (or positive) past experiences.
