The unit covers two receptive skills of four English skills - reading and listening. It provides details on reasons and skills for the receptive skills and also lists potential problems in teaching these skills. The unit contains a typical receptive skills lesson regarding a text about the life of Elvis Presley. The demonstrated lesson is structured as a Patchwork ESA one with the following procedure: engage - study - engage - study - activate - study - activate. I believe that this example will be helpful when I create lesson plans on similar topics in future.I learned about various tests given in education in general and also more specific to teaching English as a foreign language. I found it a very straight forward unit with descriptions of tests matching my own life experience growing up. I was less familiar with all the various Cambridge tests (KET, PET, FCE, etc.) and other external exams. I kinda wish that when they mention the \"intergration skill\" vs the \"specific skills\" tests (Edexcel vs Trinity exam), that they would explain what that means exactly. Or show an example. But I guess I can just look those up.
