This unit helped to give me ideas for lesson planning and also highlighted the importance of writing lesson plans in order to have an aim for the class. It also helped me to figure out the different phases of the lesson and their function. The Engage, Study and Activate pattern ensures that the class runs smoothly and there are different kinds of activities so no one becomes bored. Each phase can also have different parts e.g. the Study phase can have 2 parts if there are a lot of activities to get through.
I feel the templates will come in very useful and also the example worksheetsThis unit shows a clear example of how students can be engaged or disengaged all dependent on the teacher's teaching way and mood. The outcome of the two different lessons is vastly different. While watching the first video, even I was cringing at the teacher?s mood. I feel it?s good to think about how you would want to be taught or how you would understand lesson content better and incorporate that into the lesson, if it?s applicable. Overall, the teacher?s attitude and energy really affects the students learning and understanding, so it?s important to always be positive.
