This unit describes some of the basic things all teachers should be aware of. What kind of character they should cultivate, the different roles that they should play in the classroom, what character traits they should encourage in their students, and how to evaluate their students individual levels more objectively.
I have been teaching for a few years, but I still found this unit fairly useful. It has given names to some things which I had previously only understood intuitively, making them functional concepts I can now think about more clearly. It has also given me some perspective on my post-pubescent students, whose self image I had not considered much. I often find myself acting as a prompter when in class with such students, and I am now thinking quite a bit about how to empower them and hand over a little more initiative.
