In this unit I have learnt about different English language teaching theories, methods and techniques existing around the worlds. I have also learnt that ESA is the most effective and logical of all of them. I have learnt a little bit about each stage of ESA and I got very useful ideas about how to plan and what kind of activities to use in each stage. I also learnt that giving feedback is also a very important part of teaching, and that praising and encouraging the students is even more important than correcting them. On the contrary, too much correction can have a negative effect, because it can interrupt the flow of the thought of students and it can impede their learning, by hurting their feelings, making them lose confidence and interrupting the natural flow of classroom activities. Therefore, correction shouldn't be overdone.
