It was good to learn about the use of the course book and that this doesn't have to be the be it and end all when it comes to the teaching base for your lesson. It can also be beneficial to the students if as the teacher we become more creative with materials that we use in the classroom by creating our own which hold more relevance to each set of students. Obviously the course book is beneficial as it is a tried and tested syllabus however targeting each group of students in relation to their interests can help motivate each class and get them wanting to learn more in English whilst giving them the confidence to use the English language freely. I think the creativity as a teacher is very important when it comes to setting up activities with the class in order to get them fully engaged and immersed in learning the English language.
