I was already quite familiar with lesson planning from my Bachelor of Education training, however I found the information in Unit 9 invaluable. I liked how the material stressed that flexibility and style are the chief characteristics of lesson planning and that teachers must adapt their own approach to carrying out a lesson. I think that a lesson plan must have all of the elements: teacher and learner objectives, teaching aids, anticipated problems, procedure, timing, class level, date/time, notes etc. However, these may not be made explicit, as long as the teacher is aware of all of these elements and makes sure to record the more important aspects such as the general lesson and date/time. Usually if the important parts are recorded, the teacher should later be able to extricate the aims and more reflective aspects of the lesson.
