In this unit the focus is on a particular aspect of teaching: how to manage the classroom. It gives several suggestions starting from the eye contact, which is very important because it establishes good rapport with the students; using the voice in the right manner will allow the students to understand your explanations or instructions. Particular attention is given to the pros and cons of the different ways of working in the class: whole-class working, single student or working in pairs. We have to let the students work on their own as much as they can, our role is that of a guide. Students can work together as a group or in pairs, giving them a safe environment where to try out ideas, where stronger students can help the weaker ones. Particular attention is also given on how to manage classroom problems and to maintain discipline.
