This unit covered teaching etiquette, including how to use body language, and eye contact in the classroom to ensure the most productive learning environment. It stressed the effect that the positioning of the teacher can have on the class ie. how the classroom is set up, as well as the projection of the voice. It talked about how to use these things to establish discipline. It discussed the different forms of group work, and which worked best for what scenario. It provided advice on how to maintain discipline in the classroom, explaining some causes for poor behaviour and how to properly react when children misbehave in class in order to minimize said behaviour in the future. It described the delicate balance between student talk time and teacher talk time, when each is important, as well as how to establish rapport in a classroom.
