I found this lesson to be filled to overflowing with information new to me regarding methods of teaching. It opened my eyes as to how I will be able to communicate with students who do not speak my language. There are so many ideas, that I found it almost overwhelming to keep them all straight at first and had to keep going over them all to ensure I knew which method was for which stage. I do believe that by the end of the lesson, I have the ESA firmly engrained in my mind now.This lesson was pretty straight forward, but also very important. It described different techniques for teaching receptive skills. It also effectively delineated between the challenges faced in reading and listening. Of course language comprehension is more difficult without a text in front of you, but this unit helped to contextualize this phenomenon. I also enjoyed the example lesson that incorporated music. I feel that this would be a great medium to engage students through.
