This unit is talking about teaching productive skills--speaking and writing. Accuracy activities are concentrated on producing correct language, which will be more concerned with in the Study stage. While fluency activities are concentrated on allowing students to experiment and be creative with language, which will be more concerned with in the Activated stage.
There are three types of speaking activities, including controlled activities, guided activities and creative communication. Students should be well encouraged in the class. Teachers can use some techniques, such as pair-work, group-work, enough prepare time for students and so on, to encourage students to interact.
In the teaching of writing skills, teachers should pay more attention on the aspects, such as handwriting, spelling, layout, punctuation and creative writing.
