Pronunciation may be the most neglected aspect of English language teaching for many reasons, including lack of confidence in non-native teachers and, sometimes, ignorance of the phonetic matter for native teachers. Nevertheless, a considerate teacher should integrate the teaching of pronunciation as of one of the main parts of an English course. Pronunciation can be thought when and where it is needed, can be allotted to a specific in-lesson slot; or, alternatively, an entire lesson con be centred on pronunciation. This mostly depends on the students 'needs.
As per the goals of pronunciation teaching, we, as teachers, must be realistic and understand that learners are rarely to achieve an identical, native-sounding pronunciation, and, many of the times, their objective as students is to go for intelligibility instead of perfection.
