This unit contained helpful tips about how to use the equipment in the classroom, as well as considerations for what type of equipment to have, if given the choice. I was familiar with all of the equipment, but there were some new ideas for how to use them well. Movie clips can be used to present new language, predict was in next, or describe a silent scene. It's important not to show movies just to show them, but they can be motivating, and students can see as well as hear, which helps with comprehension. Video cameras can be used to record students, so they can then reflect on what they see. Students can also record themselves doing a broadcast of some sort for an activity and that gives motivation and authenticity and just makes it more fun! There were many online resources listed that will be helpful in planning lessons as well.
