The topic of Unit 2 is Teaching and Learning; including explanations of the learning and behaviour theories; Constructivism, Environmental Theory, Maturation Theory and others, native language and second language acquisition, two different methodologies for approaching 5-9 and 9-13 year old students, how to set up an effective classroom environment, how to measure levels for productive and receptive skills and more. Even though I learned a lot of all the previous mentioned topics the most interesting part of the unit was the ‘dos and don'ts’ for the different young learner groups; e.g. involve singing and dancing is a very good activity for 5-9 year old students but might embarrass 9-13 year olds. Another example; working with social medias is good for the older youth learners but highly inappropriate for the younger group.
