This unit covered the different types of technology that are used in a classroom to teach foreign language. I recall many of these being used by my own foreign language teachers throughout their lessons, with the most effective being the DVDs or those that were holding our attention rather than just static images on a whiteboard or interactive whiteboard. It was good to read about helpful advice before using this equipment and how they can be properly utilized in the lesson for a maximum learning experience for the student.This unit provides two very different examples of teaching a class, which is useful to observe the difference between an effective and ineffective teaching style. It illustrates how small changes to a teachers attitude, lesson plan, and body language can greatly affect the effectiveness of his or her lesson. Student comfort and attitude is more often than not a reflection of the teachers' attitude and has a profound effect on their participation in the class and how well the concepts taught can stick in the students memory.
