This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I learned about advantages of teaching an existing group that these students already know and are comfortable with each other and familiar with EFL. I learned that the teacher should use the course book in the first lesson and instead try to establish rapport between the students. I learned about things that should be included in the first lesson such as finding out what the English language level of each student is. I learned about a suitable activity for establishing rapport, the warmer activities. In addition, I learned that what a teacher can use to help the class when faced with a mixed ability group such as pairing the strong students with the weak ones. Techniques that help with a large class and reason for students using their native language in the in the class were also the other topics that I could familiarize myself with.
