This unit was a practical learning unit.I enjoyed learning this unit as the explanations were perfect and lucid to understand.It teaches us how can we start our first lesson.The first day is no books day.How to analyze and understand the student learning needs and aspirations.The common problems that they face, can be turned into a syllabus and discussed.The unit also explains in great detail how to conduct warmer sessions? and manage the large classrooms.Most importantly we as teachers need to encourage students to use more of English in their speaking activity. Thank you.From this unit,I've known that we can divide the reasons and motives for reading and listening into two fairly wide-rainging categories:for a purpose,for entertainment.In this unit,I learned how can we read and listen.Our understanding of the context depend on expertise in these areas:predictive skills,specific information-scanning,general idea-skimming,detailed information, deduction from context.I've learned about the problems with listening and reading,how to choose and teach language,how to create interest,how to provide tasks.All these things are useful for my teaching.
