I learned a lot about various tests that will be used while teaching English to foreign learners. It is important to understand what tests will be used for the different levels of learners. I learned that placement testing is used before a student begins english lessons, to assess what level they are on before they begin. Progress testing is important to be able to monitor and track the students progress throughout the course. Each test has a different and valuable purpose.Modal verbs such as can, could, may, might are used for varying levels of politeness, obligation and certainty. The passive voice is used when the agent is not so important or does not want to disclosed. It is formed by auxiliary verb \"be\" and the past participle (eg. the wall was painted by Tom). Defining relative clauses specify which person/thing is being referred to. In non-defining relative clauses, you separate the extra non-essential information with commas.
