This unit is about course book and lesson material. We go over the difference between authentic materials and created materials. Authentic materials are things like menus, poems, songs, programs and magazines that can be used to teach a lesson. Created material are usually designed by the teacher and can be used to supplement course books. we also learn about the advantages and disadvantages of using course books. Some advantages include the balanced mix of grammar, vocabulary and skilled work, and the teacher's books offer some good ideas for inexperience teachers. Some disadvantages could be that course books could be outdated, and exclusive use of course books can be predictable and boring. We also take a look at how to choose course books if we have the option to do so. There is also some examples of created materials in this unit.
