Course Books can be a very helpful tool in teaching language but the buck doesn't stop there. The teacher must supplement the use of a text book with engaging and fun learning activities that may be more topical that the current text book in use. If a teacher thinks of a new way to teach a concept, she should be free to carry it out. She should not rely on the course book for every lesson every day, but it is particularly helpful for a new teacher to have access to previously tried and true course materials as a spring board for her own professional development.This unit consisted of the basic overview of the Grammar involved in the writing and teaching of the English language. Years of formal education and English being spoken as my first language did not prepare me for the realities of actually teaching the language of when I have spoken my entire life. My understanding of Nouns, Verbs, Adverbs and conjunctions were well known, but looking at the other parts of the sentences in the same way that I analyzed sentences in other languages helps me realize that there is more work to be done in order to teach the language.
