Unit 8: The future tense discusses the different tenses and ideas that can be used for future meaning. I learned that aside form the common structures of tenses used in both past and present tense we also use 'be going' + infinitive or what we call the going to future tense. The present simple tense and the present continuous tense while retaining their original forms can also be used with future meanings. At this point we could also conclude that all tenses have very similar forms.This unit was very informative in terms of ways of structuring classes in order to most effectively motivate students to learn and ingrain the material in a lasting way. For me, the most important part of this unit was on corrections: I knew that too much correction could lead to demoralization, but not enough could lead to unchecked bad habits reinforcing themselves. Thus, this chapter taught me what signs to look for in order to find the middle ground of 'just enough' corrections.
