A very informative and useful unit that reminded me of how I and my peers were tested at school, college and university in order to evaluate our understanding during our studies and testing at the end of each stage. The unit also reminded me of how my performance was assessed as an Apprentice in basic training. For these reasons I think the unit would enable me to use my own experience in being assessed together with the course material, ideas presented in this unit and in general.This unit dealt with pronunciation and phonology. I had never been taught phonetic script prior to this and rather enjoyed it. It has shed light on the words that I commonly miss spell and helped me understand why I battle with those words. Hopefully I will be able to improve in this area. It has also revealed to me that I might be deaf when it comes to stresses on particular words. I feel like me ears are being tuned. This should help me to better assist my students in the future.
