This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
So far, this lesson has been the most challenging. I teach, but I have not had formal education training which is where I imagine a lot of this information is covered. The different methods presented are helpful to know, but I did feel that many examples were directed to teaching children rather than adults, so I had to imagine what I could do with college students to engage them in the same ways. Luckily, many of the games/activities would be fun for older learners depending on the situation. Presently, I only use task-based learning for my French classes, but I am inspired to test out community language learning in order to place the focus back on the students. It was nice to read about the ESA lessons because I do all of the above in the classroom, but now I have even more ideas about how to get students to engage, study and activate.
