This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit covers the four parts of present tense; their definitions, uses, and structures. Before this unit, I knew that there were different aspects of each tense in English, but I did not know exactly what they entailed. In school, we learned how to structure sentences and the proper forms of verbs, but we did not learn what these aspects were called. For example, in this unit I learned that there are small yet important differences between Present Continuous and Present Perfect Continuous. Present Continuous describes actions that were completed but at an indefinite time, while PPC communicates an incomplete activity, and how long it has taken as well as an activity that has been finished recently. I did not know that these uses were described in different tenses, I just assumed that it was just \"present tense\" not categorized.
