In this lesson we looked the level of students from starter to upper-intermediate. This was compared to the Common European Framework. Understanding a students level is very important so you can place them in the correct group and therefore not overwhelmed or underwhelmed. We also need to perform a needs analysis to understand student's previous learning experiences and what they are looking to get out of the course.
We also studied various versions of a syllabus and how to set one up. This will be useful when planning out the course for the student by building in introductions, lesson focus, along with tests. With regards to tests, there also various types here from diagnostics to progress tests. Each plays their roles. Progress appears to be the most common as we would perform this during the course to check in with student's learning.
