This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit was about conditionals and reported speech. As a native English speaker, I use conditionals and reported speech naturally, but don’t analyze why I use it the way I do. The conditional explanations made a lot of sense. I could clearly see zero conditionals as irrefutable facts, and first conditionals as a probable real-life situation if the condition was met. The explanations were very helpful.
The reported speech part of the unit left a lot of questions unanswered. I felt I needed to dig deeper into the tenses again to digest the unit. The diagram left a question unanswered, as to what to replace tomorrow with. This was not explained as thoroughly as some of the other parts. Although I feel I use reported speech correctly in my daily life, I know I will have to prepare very thoroughly when I need to teach the subject.
