This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This was a great section to read through. I probably would not have though of a lot of the material. Whether or not students had been together previously wouldn't have been near my first thought when beginning to teach for the first time, but it is definitely an important consideration to have. It was also nice to see some more reassurance that it is important to use as much English and as little of the students' native tongue as possible. Class size is also something to consider. It could help greatly in preparing as a new teacher to be ready for a class to be as small as a few students, or as big as 100. Learning the different techniques of teaching based on many factors such as class size, level of class, and new vs. existing groups is definitely needed. I am sure this information will help me feel much more prepared for my first lesson!
