This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Having had to plan a lesson before for myself I found most of this information to be prior knowledge. While the information is certainly correct, when teachers are first creating lesson plans for themselves it might be best for them to first shadow an experienced fellow teacher to see how they organize their classes. Even if they don't use a physical lesson plan, the observing teacher would be able to recognize the structure that they are using. This would not only give the teacher experience through observation, but it would also allow them to determine what they liked about their coworker's lesson and what they did not like, allowing them to develop ideas for their own lesson plans. I did, however, find the example worksheets to be extremely useful. They offer good examples of easy questions that could be fun for students to work through.
