This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit has taught me a lot about the different tests that can be done before and during the course, whether it is an additional course after school or if it is part of the school hours. As I am an english teacher for this year group I do find it very interesting to see the test and the way you calculate the results. Some of it I am a little familiar with, example to determine which level the child belongs in, but I also enjoyed learning about the needs analysis, which is something we do not do as we form part of the school and work according to the curriculum. I do think it is important that you should talk to the student and ask them why they feel english is important and why they should learn it, perhaps on this way the older child might feel his opinion matters and it might make it more fun for them if they feel they are not forced.
