Almost all classrooms have a board. Boards draw and hold students' attentional effectively. They can be used for writing, drawing, overhead transparencies, etc. Whiteboards are generally preferred to chalkboards. Some classrooms have interactive whiteboards. Overhead projectors have various advantages such as being able to write on what is being projected, reveal material, and having your back turned less. However, they need a surface not bleached by the sun and can be complicated to set up effectively. Visual aids illustrate meaning quickly and can bring interest and variety to the classroom. Other materials include worksheets, work cards, cassette recorders, CD players, videos, DVDs, video cameras, dictionaries, course books, photocopiers, computers, and online sources. There are many, many free online TEFL resources that can be found online.
