Unit 10 provides two different video lessons for comparison. Both videos were very informative, and choosing the negative example as the first video helped emphasize the good points of the second teaching example. The effectiveness of using student names was clear in the second example, as well as the importance and difference that smiling makes. In the first video, it is clear to viewers what kinds of behavior may come across as impatient or even hostile in a classroom setting. Some of the mistakes are a little over-the-top, but from a student's perspective (not to mention in a horseshoe arrangement desk setup, with eyes constantly towards the teacher), even a small mistake can appear to be over-the-top. Aside from the comparison purpose, the second video also provided valuable footage of some of the concepts that we've studied in action.
