This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit covered lots of material that I was largely unaware of. While I understood already the passive voice, I didn't even know there was such things as modal and phrasal verbs, nor the various distinctions between the different types. I think the coverage of phrasal verbs will turn out to be the most useful, since I have had the experience of a student wanting to know more about them, though I didn't even know there was a name for them at the time.Overall this unit featured teaching themes.Such as case studies,frame-working, problem-based learning, games, computer-aided language learning and speech of act theory.
I learnt how case studies can and should be used when teaching business English as a tool, how to carry out the frame-working process. Also, I learnt how using problem-based learning as in method in my class and how to incorporate games into my lesson when teaching business English.
