This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 6 actually helped me create a clearer definition and view of past tenses. The break down for each past tense helped to refresh my memory and also made it simpler for me to explain to others. Perhaps the trickiest part was differentiating what exactly is a past simple tense. When I broke down the different usages for it, I was able to see that it is simply ana action completed at a fixed point in the past. As always the activate teaching points were refreshing because they allow the class to learn in fun ways that will keep them engaged. This unit is very similar to unit 4. It is a grammar unit focusing on the different past tenses. Similar to unit 4 it defines the different past tenses and explains how to construct its negative positive and question forms. It also explains the different uses for each form as well as providing ideas for how to teach each grammar point. I think this is a very useful unit. I particularly liked the different teaching ideas and tips. Grammar can be difficult to teach and make fun, but many of the tips included entertaining games and activities.
