This unit focused on productive skills rather than receptive skills, such as speaking and writing. I learned the difference between accuracy and fluency teaching, specifically on how to teach lessons and guide certain activities. This was helpful because the unit also gave practice lessons on how these teaching aims could be followed. For example, in an accuracy lesson you are focusing on accuracy of information rather than longer, detailed fluency at a free pace.This unit focused on conditional sentences and reported sentences. These two things that are used very often are another example of something a native speaker doesn't have to think about but may have a hard time explaining. Looking at my own experience in learning a new language, I found that without proper knowledge to express these ideas it severely limited what I felt I could say, so these two types of sentences are important to understand and be able to teach.
