This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In this lesson we learn how to teach a receptive lesson. Receptive lesson focus on the reading and listening material present. One is not more important to the other. In the videos i liked the structure of a receptive lesson plan using the patchwork ESA method. I believe this format is the best because it gives room to jump back and fourth between the phases allowing different times to re engage students and keep their interest at their peaks.Teaching receptive skills is a very important part of TEFL. It will help me, as I am sure it has helped teachers in the past to communicate with my students better, and for them to learn and understand better. It is important to realize that there are receptive and productive skills, all which have benefits and downsides of utilizing in a classroom environment. Utilizing all of these 4 skills will be important if I am to become a good teacher.
