I found this unit to be particularly challenging. The vast amount of rules, exceptions, and usages are confusing to remember even for native English speakers. I used some of the sample activate stage activities on myself to study for the test, and they helped me comprehend the sub tense differences much more clearly than even in middle and elementary school. While already a native speaker, I have greater understanding of some of the grammatical rules I use daily and why.This unit is important because the teacher needs to understand how to select the best materials for the lesson. It is important to use the right balance of created materials and materials that already exist. It is important for the teacher to understand the advantages and disadvantages of each material so the lesson can be a rich learning experience for the students. It is also important for the teacher to help him understand how to plan a lesson with specific materials.
