Classroom management is the skill of organizing the class to maintain discipline but have a relaxed, friendly manner when working with students. This is done by making good eye contact in order to involve and encourage students in the lesson, and establish good rapport with students. Establishing good rapport means giving clear instruction, allowing student talking time by pairing or grouping students effectively, and planning lessons that reflect students' interests. Teachers can prevent problem behavior by establishing rapport, and maintaining level-headedness.This unit covers advantages and disadvantages of using a course book. It also explained the difference between authentic materials and created materials. Authentic being, materials that were not prepared for class work and created being those that were most likely created by the teacher to suit the current lesson. I learnt the advantages and disadvantages of authentic and created materials, what I should consider when using course books in class and how to maximize the effect of a course book so that it does not become boring and uninteresting for the students.
