This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit was more sentenced based, focusing on the different types of verbs; modal, transitive verbs and the passive voice. I found this unit particularly difficult, especially when it came to the transitive verbs as it was a little hard to identify which sentence belonged to which group. As a native speaker, it is common to use a sentence without understanding which word modifies what. We also take the different verbs and the impact they have on sentences for granted. Overall, it was informative, but more sentence examples would have been a little more helpful.I've learned that there are many future tenses, and that even present tenses can have a future application. It is interesting to think of the differences in usage between future simple and the \"be going to\" future. Some of the differences in usages are somewhat subtle, such as predicting the future with no evidence, and predicting the future with some evidence. Also the subtle difference in those same tenses with talking about a spontaneous decision versus and and already conceived future plan. I imagine this may be a challenging unit to teach and to learn.
