This unit covered the subject of the evaluation and testing of a students? language skills. We looked at the variety of tests that can be used before, during and at the end of an English language course.
I was unfamiliar with a diagnostic test before this course and would like to research more into how it differs from placement tests in more detail.
Overall, even though I was not the biggest fan of tests when I was at school I can see after this unit the benefit it has for students, and also for the teacher to be as effective as possible!This unit provided an excellent review over the various past tense forms found in the English language. It explained each tenses basic sentence structure, usages, typical errors and mistakes of students as well as specific samples ideas for teaching the tense form in the activate stage of learning. I found the text to be an important resource not only for refreshing my memory on the subject of past tense forms in English but also in providing useful teaching tools such as the activity examples and common errors/mistakes my students might make.
