I enjoyed learning about and thinking about the teaching of vocabulary in this unit. I can understand how finding the right level to teach could be difficult, especially in situations with mixed backgrounds among students. I am also finding the ESA model to be really helpful for organizing a teaching lesson. It makes a lot of sense to me, especially the patchwork and boomerang versions that allow for a very organic flow of learning, using and studying something new.Creating strong receptive skills in students is essential. Good receptive skills make for a more successful intake of information and also allow for a broader area of understanding in students. The unit focuses on \"teaching\" these skills and therefore I find it important to realise the key elements of connecting with the students. It is important to know them well and keep them interested and confident, as to be able to teach them in the most effective way possible.
