This unit exposed me to the advantages and disadvantages of using course books and materials and showed me how the best teachers are able to strike a balance between using published course books and creating their own materials. Moreover, this unit highlighted the differences between authentic and created resources and materials and suggested how the two categories may be used based on the language level of the students. Furthermore, the inclusion of example activities was very useful and helped me when preparing a mock lesson plan.Overall, the content of this unit featured two ESA demonstration lesson. One showed how a lesson was being taught ineffectively while the other video showed how a lesson was taught effectively. Such as the various stages of the ESA methods.
I felt I learnt want is needed to help contribute to have a effective lesson, such as having a positive a positive and engaging attitude, creative ways to learning students names while the lesson has started, involving all students in a lesson and allow students to have a high student talk time.
