This has been a pleasant unit. I found it relatively easy with one particularly interesting fact learned. I did not realize that I will be expected to always talk one language level lower than I am actually teaching to my students. I guess that makes sense but I had not given it much thought until I read that. This is all so new to me, that I had never considered how I would speak to my students. So, as a result, I am taking this whole issue much more seriously now. Thank you.Before reviewing this unit, I had not considered some of the extreme difficulties that ESL students might face when writing in English. The prospect of learning an entirely new alphabet is an intimidating one, and this lesson showed me how to help students in that learning process. It was interesting to find out that the different utilities of training students for accuracy, and then allowing them freedom in fluency practices. This seems very helpful for creating a balance.
